James joined WGA after completing his Master’s thesis on groundwater-surface water interactions at the University of Canterbury. For his research, he analysed the meteoric, surface, and groundwaters of the Ōtūkaikino River. James is enthusiastic about stream restoration and has experience in pumping test analysis and effects assessments for groundwater resource consent applications. James has completed several projects using two-dimensional groundwater modelling using Slide2. He worked as a summer intern with the Environment Canterbury groundwater team, gaining practical fieldwork experience.
